QLD: Cairns airport reopens after Cylone Rona

Cairns airport has been reopened after Cyclone Rona passed through the area overnight.

A spokeswoman from Ansett Airlines says extra flights have been scheduled this afternoon to
ferry those passengers delayed by the closure last night and this morning.

At least 12 Ansett flights to and from Cairns were cancelled this morning, disrupting the
travel plans of hundreds of passengers.

Ansett passengers affected by cancelled flights can contact reservations on 13 13 00 to
reschedule their flights.

Qantas passengers can phone 13 13 13 for information on flights to and from Cairns.
