Tas: Auto industry at risk

The federal government says the collapse of Automotive Components Limited will have
a knock-on affect in the nation's car industry.

The bearings and gaskets maker went into voluntary administration today .. less than
two months after the federal government announced a seven million dollar bail out of the
company.

Industry Minister KIM CARR has told the ABC .. the collapse affects tens of thousands
of workers and could harm production at Ford and Toyota.

Grant Thornton Melbourne has been appointed receivers and managers of ACL and will
try to sell it.
